One Jackson: Making shopping fun, interactive and rewarding!

There’s a brand new way to shop for kids’ clothing. The team over at One Jackson researches not only fashion trends, but also depends highly on what parents are looking for when shopping for their children!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

A design challenge is presented to designers nationwide through a specific and cyclical inspiration board. After the designers have submitted their designs, customers vote on their favorites and the designs are manufactured limited edition items for One Jackson’s online website for purchase. This ensures parents and children are getting the clothing they want (and helped hand-pick) and decreases the chance that every other kid in school will be wearing the same thing.

WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT?

One Jackson is:

  • Kids clothing that combines high quality, fresh design and affordable prices
  • All about discovering incredible, independent designers
  • Making shopping fun, interactive and rewarding

I’m so excited about this. As a mom of three, I need affordable prices, but don’t want to compromise my preferences and my children’s style. I also have a design background, so I know just how hard it can be to thrive in the fashion industry — I’m thrilled to see One Jackson supporting and giving independent designers a fair chance.

My oldest is almost 10 and already his own opinions when it comes to style. He’s excited to help vote and select the clothing he will be wearing this year – and we both like the idea that it’s unique and not mass-produced.

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT ONE JACKSON

“By only producing limited edition items that our customers ask for, One Jackson’s business model is efficient and reduces the waste associated with overproduction…”

“The design competitions are open to anyone, whether an emerging fashion star or a mom with a flair for creative cute clothes.”

“By bringing in the social sharing element, we are hoping to get moms talking, sharing and ultimately inspiring their children to be even more creative.”

COLLECTIONS

  • There will be eight to 10 collections per year and each collection will have between 10 and 12 styles – available in several colors and five sizes.
  • Each collection will be available between four to eight weeks depending on how quickly they sell out.

MANUFACTURING

  • Items are manufactured in the U.S., Peru and Asia.
  • The amazing knits are fine Peruvian Pima cotton and are by some of the same factories that manufacture leading contemporary lines such as Tory Burch, Theory and Rag and Bone.

PRICING

  • Prices range from $16 to $42 per item.

BOYS AND GIRLS

  • The first two lines will be for boys only due to demand by parents expressing concern for minimal choices and fresh designs for boys.
  • Girls clothing will be first available with the Holiday 2012 Collection.

WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FOR 2013?

According to One Jackson, 2013 will continue to bring bright neon colors in pink, yellows, blues and greens and washes will re-appear with sponge washes in multi-colors. Pastels will continue to be a huge hit with metallic finishes, which are trending now in adult fashion, will flow over to children’s. And last but not least, the great outdoors/camping chic is a trend in the near future along with Cape Cod’s heritage nautical as another favorite for parents and kids.
